1. Who we are

Voxcess ("we", "our", "us") is a software studio headquartered in Ranchi, India, building accessibility-first applications for blind and low-vision users. Our products include the Voxcess Typing Trainer and the Voxcess Aptitude Trainer, on Windows and Android.

2. The short version

Our server keeps only what it needs to confirm that you are a genuine, signed-in user. Everything you do in our apps stays on your own device: your progress, answers, scores, typing results, bookmarks, notes and history. We never receive it.

The only time information about your device or the app reaches us is when you choose Help → Report a Bug and send a report.

3. What we keep on our server

  • Account — your email address, your display name, and your sign-in credentials. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your password in readable form. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, never your Google password.
  • Licence and devices — which apps your account may use, and a one-way hashed identifier for each device you sign in from, so that a licence can be limited to a set number of devices. The hash cannot be turned back into your device's details.
  • Sign-in sessions — a session token, the time of your last check-in, your IP address, and the approximate city it resolves to. These are used only to keep your sign-in valid and to detect an account being shared or stolen.
  • Bug reports you send — see section 4.
  • Messages you send us — anything you write through the contact form or by email.

4. When you report a bug

Help → Report a Bug sends us what you type and your account email (so we can reply), plus a small diagnostic snapshot: the app version, your Windows or Android version, which screen reader is running, which screen of the app you were on, and the last lines of the app's own error log. It never includes your answers, scores, typing passages or progress. Nothing is sent unless you press Send. The report form's "Show what will be sent" button shows you exactly what is included, and you can untick "Include diagnostic snapshot" to send only your description.

5. What we do not collect

  • Your progress, results, answers, or what you practise.
  • Usage statistics or analytics about how you use our apps.
  • Your contacts, photos, microphone audio, camera, exact location (GPS) or browsing history.
  • Any third-party tracking or advertising data. We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs.

The Android app asks for no sensitive permissions except notifications, which you may decline.

6. How we use your information

  • To sign you in and confirm your licence.
  • To protect your account from sharing and misuse.
  • To send emails about your account, such as email confirmation, password resets and account notices.
  • To investigate and fix the bugs you report, and to reply to you.

7. Who processes it for us

  • Google Firebase / Google Cloud — hosting, sign-in and database.
  • Brevo — sending account emails.
  • ipapi.co — turning an IP address into an approximate city, for the account-sharing check. We send only the IP address, never your identity.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.

8. Your progress is yours

Because your progress lives only on your device, uninstalling an app or replacing your computer can remove it. The apps keep automatic local backups and let you export your history; please keep a copy if it matters to you. We cannot recover it for you, because we never had it.

9. How long we keep it

  • Account and licence information: while your account is active.
  • Sign-in session and location records: only as long as needed for security, and in any case not more than 30 days after the session ends.
  • Bug reports and messages: until the issue is resolved, and not more than 12 months.

10. Your rights

You may ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and everything we hold. You may also lodge a complaint with India's Data Protection Board. Email privacy@voxcess.com; we will act within 30 days.

11. Children

Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

12. Security

All traffic between our apps and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Server responses to the apps are signed so they cannot be forged. Sign-in tokens on Windows are encrypted and tied to the device. Our database does not allow apps or browsers to read other users' records.

13. Changes to this policy

When we make a material change we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If a change would mean collecting something new, we will say so here before it happens.
