About this app
Voxcess Apti is an aptitude trainer for blind and low-vision candidates preparing for government and bank recruitment exams. Every question, option, hint and explanation is spoken through your screen reader, and everything works from the keyboard.
What you can practise
- Maths (quantitative aptitude), in 9 groups: number basics; percentage, ratio and average; profit, loss and interest; time, work and speed; age and clock problems; algebra; geometry and mensuration; counting and probability; data interpretation.
- Reasoning, in 7 groups: series and patterns; coding and analogy; arrangement and ordering; blood relations and directions; logic and deduction; statement-based reasoning; visual and spatial reasoning.
- Practice questions are generated fresh, so you never run out. Mock tests also draw on more than 1,000 exam-style questions.
Visual topics such as mirror images and paper folding are described in words. They are the hardest to make fully accessible, and we especially want your feedback on them.
Ways to practise
- Start Learning: practise any topic with hints and a step-by-step breakdown.
- Teach Me: guided lessons that explain a concept, with questions along the way.
- Practice Weak Topic: the app picks the concept you find hardest.
- Exam Mode: timed mock tests for SSC, bank and railway exams, or a custom test of 5 to 200 questions and 1 to 180 minutes. Review every answer afterwards.
- Speed Drill: answer as many as you can in 30 seconds to 5 minutes.
- Cognitive Gym: quick mental-arithmetic drills: tables, squares and roots, percentages, BODMAS and fractions.
- Progress Report and Bookmarks to see how you are doing and come back to questions.
Built for screen readers
- Maths is read in plain English: x squared, not x caret 2.
- Equation Explorer (Ctrl+E) lets you move through a long expression part by part with the arrow keys.
- Audio graphs (Ctrl+G) let you hear the data in a chart question.
- A calculator (Ctrl+1) and a scratchpad (Ctrl+S to save, Ctrl+R to hear it, Ctrl+B to open it).
- The function keys work even while you are typing an answer.
- Adjustable text size and a high-contrast theme for low-vision users.
